What does a Young Earth Creationist mean when they write re:Creationism "The theory never drives the reality."?

He's trying to say that the inverse is true, reality (what is observed) drives or motivates us to explain it, theorize. However, YEC is based not on reality but on poor reading comprehension and poor, outdated Hebrew scholarship of the Genesis creation account.
