Tell why anyone want to bring back the "Fairness Doctrine"?

The author of the Fairness Doctrine must have been feeling witty when he named it. It's the most unfair ridiculousness that I've ever heard. Anyone who supports it can't stand to hear opinions that differ or disagree with their own. It's a fascist proposal.
