Should I get confirmed Catholic?

My parents really want me to be confirmed, but I know that if I do it that I won't be true to myself but my parents have threatened that they will not send me to college and will take away my car they bought me if I don't do it. I don't know what I should do. My parents say I should just do it because it's a tradition but I have no desire to perpetuate that tradition in my family. They can't give any reasons why to be catholic and become enraged when I try to talk to them about it. I'm only 16 and don't feel like I'm ready for a religious commitment especially Catholicism because I don't like how Catholics I know have represented their faith... My dad even said he was "hurt" when I told him I wasn't Catholic. How can I explain to them that I want to become confirmed later in life when it's my decision so that it will be sacred and meaningful as it was intended?
