Is it actually true that Brits are attracted to Americans and vice versa?

I currently have a boyfriend from the UK. I love his accent and the fact that he plays soccer which he calls football, and how he always calls me love and askes me wtualhat's wrong, he can be a total bad *** yet still be charming with his voice. He says he loves how independent and feisty I am, which usually annoys most guys over here. My grandmother was American and married and Brit and my mother was German American and married a Brit and here I am following suit! Is this a coincidence or is the actually evidence to support an attraction between the two english speaking countries. Just curious.
